Geostat: Georgia's economy grew by 8.2% in March

According to the preliminary assessment of Geostat, in March 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 8.2 percent, and the average real growth of the first quarter was determined by 7.8 percent.

According to statistics, in March 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the following sectors made a significant contribution to growth: processing industry, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities, activities related to real estate.

According to their own reports, a downward trend was observed in the construction, energy, transport and warehousing sectors.

"In January-March, export of goods amounted to 1,326.0 million US dollars - a change of -9.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Import of goods - 3,373.3 million US dollars - a change of -5.3%; foreign trade turnover - 4,699.3% million US dollars - Change - 6.5%", - stated in the information.
