The urgent need of Unity in the statement of the open letter was inspired by Mr. Gia Macharashvili, Mr. Dato Evgenidze and Mr. Kakha Tsabadze as well as their fellow authors is the genuine reflection of the current situation in Georgia.

On behalf of the Georgian artists the initiative group of the authors mentioned above has published the following letter:

"We would like to express our attitude to the ongoing situation in our country, that once again has disunited our society.

Not even once or twice Georgian History has showed us how vulnerable it makes country whenever the Georgians are confronted against each other how much vulnerable does it make for the external threats among the country and how much peace and freedom are put on the stake.

Todays is the turning point of defining the course of the future History of Georgia, it’s time to make decisions based on more rational thinking and less on the emotional impulses in order to live in the developed and prosperous country. We are the bridge between generations trying to be honest and make responsible steps and thus the unity is the only right pass.

We strongly believe that the unity is the strongest protector of sovereignty.

And once again, we state that the Unity is the only right way for gaining peace, prosperity and bright future of the republic of Georgia.

And that’s why now is the time of peaceful unity that will help us to obtain the deserved place in the European Family”.
